Compared to other books by DL that I have read, this plods, probably because I expected a thriller - the opening scene promises that but it doesn't happen.
If you enjoy a "journey" story, this can tick some boxes. Rachel had a sad life, not knowing her father, and there is that search, meeting people along the way and having a career and personal experiences. As such, it is slow and not a gripper. For me, I have a pile of TBR that promise some adrenaline so I put this back on the shelf halfway through in case I get in the mood to persevere in the future. Life during lockdown is so boring I need vicarious excitement.
