My 6 year old African American son really enjoys this show! My family and I watched this show along side with him with his younger brother and sister. I am a little disappointed in the writing and representation of the show. Specifically, I would like to see a African American female cheerleader or football player as one of the main characters. It feels very “white heroes saves the day”. Although, I did explain to my son why representation matters but I toned down my rhetoric to him because I do not wish to ruin the program for him but I am reaching out to the show to express my sentiments. However, your attempts with some of the other diverse characters of the show are appreciated but a strong black not comical lead is good for our children to see as well. Thank you!!
