Riveting story, beautiful fidelity, and realistic movement mechanics make this AW sequel worthy of the Remedy name. These guys don’t miss! Second to FromSoft, Remedy is really proving to be one of my favorite game studios. You can tell a ton of effort and thought went into this game. I’m only about half way through but I’m far enough to give it 5 stars. The game is not perfect, I’ve encountered some dialogue bugs with NPC’s which was annoying. But it is good enough to where I’m willing to forgive certain glitches. Highly recommend this along with Control, it’s worth a play through if you want a solid story experience, and want to get away from the tiresome, worn out, and obnoxious AAA nonsense that shove cut scenes and generic plots down your throat. I would absolutely not put this game in the same category as that garbage.
This game, as all Remedy games, will force you to think outside the box and it encourages you to explore. Also to address certain comments made in the negative reviews, can really tell the difference between players who’ve played AW1 and Control, vs players who haven’t gotten a taste of Remedy’s style yet. You gotta give the game a chance, it’s drastically different then what people are programmed to play and so right off the bat they rate it poorly. I saw a guy who wrote an entire review after playing one combat scene. Really goes to show people’s attention span now days.
