To truly get the best out of this movie you need to learn about what happened to Sharon Tate, keep in mind this is a non fiction story, but Tarantino added his own characters. Having knowledge of the real story makes the film a lot more entertaining, and makes you feel more invested. There are a lot of scenes and awesome moments that you might not understand if you do not know the backstory.
