Mixed feelings about this movie. Republicans and people who already admire Reagan will love it. Certainly his work on ending the Cold War which was the big theme of the movie was admirable. The movie glossed over the negative effects of his economic policies and didn’t dig deep on the Iran Contra affair so providing a more balanced portrayal of him as a person wasn’t presented. Dennis Quaid playing Reagan did a good job. Not all of the acting p, however, was that good. Not a movie I would see again.

I am very disappointed with the quality of acting for many of the main characters, particularly Laura Jacobsen who plays the ingenue. She was the wrong choice for that role. A little uncertain about Christine Baranski as the dowager aunt too. I think they could have made better casting choices for this series and then it might be in the league with Downton Abbey and other great British period dramas, but right now it’s a poor imitation with great costumes and sets.
