I'm going to start this review with my opinion: CoD MW is a great game for me. All you need to do is to see if the game is good for you. Here are a few things to consider.
GAME SIZE: The game is a REALLY big game. It is almost 200 GB for some people. It is around 80 GB for me, but it tends to vary from person to person according to the r/modernwarfare subreddit.
UPDATES: The updates are tedious. The game gets an update every week on Tuesday (mostly). Most tend to be small, but every once in a while there are updates that can be around 30-40 GB.
INSTALLATION: Installing the game is pretty confusing. There is around 8 things you need to download to get the full experience of the game: Warzone Pack, Campaign Pack 1, Campaign Pack 2, Multiplayer Pack 1. Multiplayer Pack 2, Spec Ops Pack 1, Spec Ops Pack 2, and a data pack. Installing all of this took me around 2 and a half days on my 40 mbps Xbox One.
CAMPAIGN: The campaign is the part that everybody liked. It is probably the best one since BO2. I really recommend that you play the campaign if you get the game.
MULTIPLAYER: I got the game in May, well after the launch of the game (October 25, 2019). The camping has died down quite a bit and they are pretty rare since everybody shames them. You do need to keep a few things in mind if you plan to buy this game for the multiplayer. The Skill Based Match Making (SBMM) is pretty unpredictable. On one round you may get a server full of less skilled people and get a high K/D. You will probably feel good after that match, but the next few rounds you could get completely destroyed in more competitive matches. The lack of competitive game modes just makes the problem worse. Another thing you should keep in mind is the gameplay. There are a few "restricted items' or "hated items" in the game that you want to avoid using if you don't want to get spammed with messages that have to do with them having a sexual relationship with your mother. You generally want to avoid any shotguns, launchers, and Claymores to avoid this problem. If you want to stretch the line, then Riot Shields are also considered to be "hated" by the mw community. If I had to recommend a good weapon to use, I would recommend the M4A1, Grau 5.56, MP5, or MP7 to get you on your feet.
SPEC OPS: There is one word that describes Spec Ops well: disappointing, It is basically you and 3 other randoms trying to complete an objectives while there are enemies spawning infinitely all around you.
If you can live with all of the things above, then I recommend that you get the game. It can be really fun for some people while it may be hard to keep for others.
