It’s a Pixar movie. I watched it with a friend and it was the formula you’ve come to expect. The graphic design and animation was on point. I got a few good laughs and I did enjoy the movie.
But it felt like it was missing something. There was a level of depth missing that didn’t sell me on the movie. Inside out? Yes, we all carry that nostalgia. Wall-E? He we so endearingly human. Toy Story has more allegories than Aesop himself.
Luca is missing that. It’s missing that extra spark that normally elevates Pixar. I feel like it’s missing a few arcs, some backstory exposition, something.
It’s a good time killer. But don’t expect anything more…
