Recently saw the anime (Parasyte: The Maxim) and, while the 2/3rds (or so) are great, the anime drops the ball a bit on the 3rd act. The Grey is an improvement in terms of pace and action sequences. The new characters, acting, cinematography, mood and SFXs are great. The CG is not perfect, but it is quite good. The story overall is a bit simpler and slightly rushed, but they get most of the original themes and ideas through. The ending is a nice surprise and I'm hopeful for a sequel.

Great series and tribute to the Castlevania games. Based on one of the best of the original Nintendo games, Dracula's Curse, it introduce us to Trevor, Sypha and Alucard in their fight against the eternally resurrecting Lord Vampire Vlad Tepes Dracula, who is based on the classic vampire from Bram Stoker. The art is fantastic even though the animation can be a bit choppy at times, but not enough to distract you from the story. Speaking of the story, it pays a homage to the original story while adding enough to carry the protagonists forward. It is not perfect, with some events and character decisions being sometimes odd and random, but it serves the final purpose. The dialog is usually catchy and funny, although sometimes the funny parts get lagged with some extended back and forth between the characters and they try to fix the bits of cringe-y dialog with the many conjugations of the word f%$k. The English voice acting cast is solid and the Japanese track sounded really anime style, which fits very well. Overall I recommend it to fans of the original game and fans of Dracula, vampires, horror, medieval settings, fantasy or adult animation in general.
