White Lines is not great drama or even a great afternoon soap, but it has an allure many better written and acted tv series lack. Maybe the best part of the first two episodes is how well they depict the transition of Ibiza. The island has gone under a massive change from the 80’s to today. It used to be a place for young Brits, Germans, Dutch, Scandi’s to act out - drink, smoke hash, random sex, and dance cheaply. IbIt’s was inexpensive and pretty safe. Now it has more the feel of a mini Vegas in a Med setting. It is now glitchy and very expensive. While a few of the characters are the same, most are new and out to rob you. Hopefully the writing will improve but I am likely to watch anyway.
