SPOILER FREE If you go into this expecting a great story that is well acted and has good flow and minimal plot holes you will hate it. If you go into this and take it for what it is you will be happy. Too many people are bashing this movie because they want to compare everything to the original which is ridiculous. No Halloween sequel or remake will ever live up to the original. Instead of being so harsh and putting it in that lens, people just need to appreciate that this movie, while far from great, is fun to watch. The good: It has the most and some of the best kills of the entire franchise. It also has alot of cool nostalgic moments too and the side characters are pretty fun. The tone throughout is very dark and Michael Myers is more sinister and soulless than ever before. Hats off to the special fx team too as the gore and creativity of the kills is on another level! The bad: Horrible acting from the majority of the cast (Michael Myers not included) and a story that lacks anything really interesting. Very cheesy dialogue and lazy writing plagues this film. The awesomenes of the kills for me do outweigh the poor story and I'll likely be giving it a second viewing soon.
