I had high expectations. I remember when this happened- and I remember the coverage changing depending on the source. I'm glad they ultimately divorced because he could not consent at age 12. I'm tired of the media and this film talking about the case as anything BUT criminal. The movie has loud, oddly placed, disturbing music. Julianne Moore played up the lisp and affect in her voice a little too much. The movie is kind of all over the place- referring to the kids and husband fluidly and painting Moore's character as both pathetic and inept. Weird scenes that have nothing to do with the storyline are prevalent (like the smoke-smell bedroom scene). I would NOT recommend wasting 3 hours on this garbage- for the sound score alone!

DO NOT EXPECT LAUGHTER. The movie that might have been..so much potential &expectation..all lost. It was awful- maybe poor to mediocre w/alot of wine. No character development-& although we are teased the gals may do mdma, or do ANYTHING other than sing...it is a huge disappointment. They could have had a female equivalent of The Hangover, Sideways, or some hope for the comedic value of films by the same team. Far too much press for such a flop.

A show that had so much promise the first season... DROPPED THE BALL lower than any show should. Do not waste your time. It is the only show in cable or premium cable history that I actually wish I could get my time back. If it were in theaters I'd demand a refund. So much potential..a FLOP! And so much regret for time I will never get back.

Builds you up and slams you down...in a very bad way. What might have been an excellent movie ..turned out disappointing beyond belief. I wish we had less ambiguity in ending and more character development of the love story that kept us enthralled . The suspenseful theme throughout does hold attention...but the ending ruins the entire movie for me..It had great potential and build up...for a very disappointing and deflating end. It would be perfect if the ending was gratifying ..at all

I was pleasantly surprised with this film-I even let out a loud "Oh My God!" In the first 10 minutes. I had low expectations and did NOT expect the full throttle horror I saw. However- the movie does drag in spots and the ending leaves you guessing or questioning bits..but the entire body of the film keeps you guessing from start to finish. There are plenty of plot twists and startling moments that left me glued to my seat. Highly recommend. I'll watch again.

Brilliantly done. This film has an incredibly long start...way too long-but the story then picks up pace with a fast-paced second half and a macabre yet sweet&surprising end. I hope to see a sequel or prequel.

EXPECT DISAPPOINTMENT! CLOSE but no cigar A horror film that's supposed to explain the entire anthology?...disappoints. I expected what the reviews and filmmakers promised ..explanations/ reasons/motive. INSTEAD- I got a lot of gratuitous murder completely without motive and I won't watch the rest of the franchise. Much ado about nothing. What could've been a suspenseful and expectant thriller..is a complete failure..plus-? I still do not understand reasoning for purge
