I watched this movie on Netflix last night. My husband and I didn’t check the run time ( almost 4 hours) before we started watching it. The beginning seemed to have gratuitous gore and violence with dated camera angles and cinematography. However, about 30 minutes in, I was sucked into the story. The rape scenes were jarring. There were some slow points, but for the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband and I don’t know how we had never heard of this movie!? Granted, I was eleven years old in 1984, when it was released. But, I thought I would have heard of it at some point. All in all, I liked the movie.
