Visually speaking this movie is absolutely stunning. The lighting is gorgeous and sets are fantastic. Most of the musical score is great too. As someone whos favorite game of all time is alien isolation i really appreciate that a lot of the design was clearly inspired by the game. It really drew me in. As for the movie itself the first half to 3/4 of the movie is way better than I expected..... but then we get towards the end where a lot of questionable things start to happen like the gun part where for some reason the aliens were afraid of the gun before she fired it but lost all fear once she started shooting but even worse the final confrontation was kinda ridiculous to be honest. I also didn't like all the call back lines they used from the old movies, I hate when movies have to rely on references from old material. Remember when Ripley said this, remember when bishop said that, remember when ash said this. Over all the movie is pretty decent though given that it will balways be compared to aliens one of the best movies of all time. I didn't particularly care for the younger cast either although the actors were otherwise pretty good especially Andy. The movie could have been better but it's... not bad for...a human

If I had reviewed this after the second episode I would have thought it was going to be another evil white supremacist take on America where the evil white man is out to get everyone. It seemed super woke at first but it's just part of the plot rather than a shoehorned in political agenda. By the end the show its actually pretty politically neutral. Some of the stuff that seems to be an agenda was just some character back story and the white supremacy guys didn't end up even being the antagonists or even really all that much of the plot. Im just trying to be fair here, I hate modern day politics being shoehorned into movies but this show was not that regardless of what some other reviews say. I don't think they watched the whole thing or maybe just clung onto some of the sub story. Its really not that bad, there's far worse woke shows out there such as designated survivor season 2 and 3 which are pure leftist nonsense. Having said all that the show is pretty decent and kept my attention in spite of some of the acting feeling a little off or phoned in and some of the casting is questionable such as the girl boss bad guy who makes me laugh because of some of the other roles I've seen her play. In any case the show isn't amazing but it's not bad either imo. The politics are pretty damn tame by todays standards to be fair and not what I was expecting

I always like dystopian sci Fi for it's bizarre atmosphere. It kinda reminds me of snow piercer and silo. Silo is one of the best shows Ive ever seen, snow piercer is good too. These 2 movies, well they're okay simply because they're compelling but it didn't answer much and kinda expects you to pick up the pieces. The thing with dystopia sci Fi is it almost always has underlying political "lessons" of the Marxist variety and these movies are no exception. It always seems like these concepts blame someone at the top for the worlds problems and if only it were some sort of Marxist society all the problems would magically disappear and it would be a paradise. In reality there will always be someone at the top benefitting while those below suffer. Political ideology doesn't change human nature. Ask Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping

Just watched this again for the first time in probably 20+ years in 4k. Last time I saw it it probably wasn't even 720p. Let's be honest the movie is super cheesy a cringy at times but it's fun to watch and visually really well made. The sets are nice to look at and the lighting work is really well done to keep your attention. Music is nostalgic too for anyone who is old enough to remember in 2000. The movie isnt meant to be Shakespeare or anything mind blowing but it is entertaining for what it is. Cheese factor aside its enjoyable if you don't take it too seriously. Btw I don't remember movies looking this crisp with all the pretty lighting back then.

Glad I didn't pay to see this at the theatre. The only reason I give it 2 stars is because the cinematics and sound is good and some of the combat sequences are decent even though it's dumb how they let the press tag along right in the middle of their squads during combat which would never happen in real life, they'd be in the way and a distraction. The only good non combat part was the 'what kind of American are you' part from the trailer. The rest was pretentiuos and boring. Also nothing is explained in this movie at all it's just completely random, for some reason the western forces, Texas and California (yeah right), are really mad at the president and want to kill him, doesn't matter who gets there first, no questions no trial. Nothing on this movie makes sense. No one seems to care when a certain person gets killed at the very end, they just act like nothing happened but where super upset earlier when someone else of equal standing gets killed. This movie could have been so much better had it been taken seriously in regards to modern political divide in the US. I will give it one thing, at least they didn't pick sides by making the political right the evil bad guys like Hollywood usually does...well other than the part with Jesse Plemmons who is obviously supposed to be the lefts idea of a far right militant just randomly killing anyone they deem to not be "the right kind of American" for no reason. I'll bet all the Democrats cheered at the theatre during that part for confirming their delusional bias💩💩💩

Beautiful visuals, gameplay is pretty fun but theres way too much loot and stuff to keep up with and sort through. I get impatient when half the game is spent upgrading and rearranging gear. I like a little bit but it's too much in this game. I get the feeling the missions will get repetitive too but don't know for sure. Btw this game Is better than Destiny, Destiny is really boring. But it's not as good as outriders. That game was awesome. Oh well, back to elden ring, maybe I'll come back to this later.
