I did not expect anything really, and I knew very little of this movie before started watching, but I was only a few minutes into it when I found myself well hooked by the great performance's of the leading actors. And as I get drawn deeper and deeper into the unfolding of the story and the characters, I got truly submerged in an amazing telling about some amazing human beings and their life struggles and achievements. When it works well, I love theatrical works like this, where the dialogue and the convincing delivery of said dialogue carries the story to its fullest, without a slew of subplots, sub characters and a vast range of sceneries. And this story works very well, indeed. The actors and the director did a great job with this script and I can truly recommend it for its theatrical values alone, but on top of that you have a story that moves and a message that needs to be told, over and over again, still today, maybe more today than ever. A great movie experience and a great human experience.
