There were some pretty problematic sexism and racism in this movie I see covered in other reviews. I also want to talk about the movie poster and how they left G.E.M.'s name out in the poster?
Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama are the protagonists, makes sense.
Sia is well she’s Sia, makes enough sense.
Nia Vardalos is the main antagonist, makes sense.
And then we have Ashley Tisdale as Cinderella and Avril Lavigne as Snow White, with the only princess in that trio left without credit being G.E.M. as Sleeping Beauty (who btw is also animated as white despite the famous name behind the voice).
I understand John Cleese is iconic and an eye-catching celebrity name who did a good job, but did they really just make a trio and then not list the one Asian actress's name to fit a white man’s name?
