A very important and rare work that covers many areas of anatomical preparations. These include various means of preparing skeletons from cadavers of animal specimens, including maceration and dermestids, different methods for preserving skeletons, muscle mounts, and the cartilagenous skeletons of sharks and rays. Despite its age, this is an invaluable reference for the biologist, archaeologist, or paleontologist and any instructor of comparative vertebrate anatomy. I have used it frequently in my career as a researcher investigating brains and skeletons of alligators, birds, and mammals.
