Great movie that makes me want to read the book again. Some people posting lengthy questions about the storyline and the book's author need to understand that Nella Larsen, the author, was biracial. She was heavily involved in the Harlem Renaissance and LGBTQ causes.
To appreciate Passing, take it on its merits, not how white the actresses look. Also, don't expect every movie set in the 1920s to be The Great Gatsby. More jazz is not needed.
Irene is only short with her maid when Clare chums it up with her, using her for her blackness. The ending is riveting. I feel as though Clare jumped. I would have liked to have seen more of Clare's homelife. What in her world made her want to risk it all by going back to Harlem?
