Some classics are just that. Very hard to follow storyline. I was distracted and lost midway through and couldn't wait for the credits to roll. Some fighting scenes kept if from being a total snoozefest. Glad it was on HBO Max because that would have been an expensive nap at the movies.

It definitely isn't lighting a candle to the original. I think the cast did a great job singing and dancing. There are a few small changes made but the plot is basically the same. I think it serves more of a purpose for the younger generation to have a chance to see a classic remade. Hopefully they enjoy it enough watch the real one to see and feel the emotions and magic it brought to us all the first time around.

This movie was hard to follow. To have such award winning actors try to bring this movie to life and still leave the audience waiting for the plot to come.full circle and not happen was very disappointing. This script should have stayed off the screen for another 28 years where it belongs. Two dumbs down and a frown🙄
