Digimon adventure tri. delves into a more realistic, humane side of the series, considering the DigiDestined characters are grown ups now and facing real life stuff. While the first series rotates around the conflict inside the digimon world (and some part of the real world in the Myotismon arc), this series still maintains the same character-by-character format. The fighting art style was superb, altho some are cut short by one-two hits before Digimon starts evolutioning again. No more recycling scenes now. Digimon models during digivolution have more volume and mass in them too.
Cons.: the plot after the 3rd series is a bit chaotic, with character seems to care less (Leomon) now, and despite they try to make them more human like, some plots and conflict between characters are simply unnecessary and redundant.
Conclusion: The nostalgic essence and soul of the earlier series can be felt, especially from the remake soundtracks, albeit it’s fading, but considering the fans are grown ups now, this could be the one to wrap up the series from our childhood. The hybrid between latest art style and design while maintaining the traditional Digimon storytelling format simply breath a fresh air into this one.
RIP Kouji Wada. May your soul fly high in the digiworld .
