This film reminded me, in many ways, of one of my all time favourites - Das Boot. The action within limited constraints (U-Boat/plane cockpit, German language, realistic, unhappy ending) is simple and straightforward and as such appeals to my tastes. It's a tense affair. Realistic. For me, almost hypnotic.
