The book starts as a nice look back to the history of money with several explanations on how it works backed with a couple of illustrative examples.
But somewhere in the middle it changes direction drastically - going deep into philosophizing on post-liberalism and reduction of human value as a piece of economy. My expectations were that money making mechanisms or other economic and financial phenomena would be explained, but the reading, mostly interesting though, ended up with a bunch of rhetorical questions and tons of discussions on AI, automation and elites, but money itself was abandoned in the mentioned middle part of the story.
Verdict - Not enough money, too much Google - 3 out 5
