I was very disappointed in this movie and would not recommend it to a friend. What could have been a classic SF story of a man's love for his dog was ruined by the writers. Instead of leading the viewers along, they should have established his motives in the very beginning. He was dying and needed to figure out how to care for his dog. Instead of being uplifted by his efforts I was depressed by his failures. What a tragic waste of a potentially beautiful story.
