This is a "graphic novel," an American genre that has only pictures, no words--captions and comic-book balloons are also not used. God's Man is about an artist, his marriage, and his struggle to survive during the depression. The story is a complete work, not condensed or simplified despite having no words. It has no color, only black ink on the paper; and as a woodcut, does not use half-tone dots for shading. It is a stirring book--it doesn't take too long to go through, but then again, I think most readers will want to page through it more than once. I certainly have.
