Keith Michell was born to play this role. He perfectly encapsulated the transition from a young, lusty King, into an infirm, obese, frail and regretful Monarch. His supporting cast was amazing calling into prominence the great actor Donald Pleasance as the devious and obsequious Thomas Cromwell. Bernard Hemmings is also superb, as were the actresses who portrayed his discarded Queens, all but the last. I recommend this film heartily to anyone remotely interested in the Tudor period.
