Wooden performances. Actors lacked chemistry with each other. The body language and actual language was often too modern an socially familiar, costuming was inconsistent,the March household was austere as it was war time,costumes and home was overly frilly, not true to the book.Meryl Streep was doing a Maggie Smith imitation, The men except for Chris Cooper were all mis cast, Joe was mis cast most of the time it felt like they were reading their lines, no relationships or feeling behind them..At one point Jo, Starting imitating Wyonna Riders Jo down to the body language. Beth was goo dish but unclear if that is because most of the script and acting was wooden. At the end it seemed very few people in the theatre enjoyed it
