The Last Jedi AKA the single most divisive film in the franchise... Some say it's the best, some say it's the worst. Watching this is definitely going to be a love it or hate it experience for you.
It took several re watches for me to finally recognize this film as the masterpiece it truly is. When I first saw this in theaters my biggest and only issue was the frustration. I finally gave it a second chance when it came out on DVD and for some reason I felt really satisfied. Every time I watch it I love it more and more.
Not to say this movie doesn't have it's issues, it does. The story arc between Finn and Rose is almost pointless, there are some minor plot holes, the ending could've been better, and the pacing isn't too great. Those are only issues that hurt the film not the issues that hurt the fans. I do believe that there are more good things than bad. I love Luke's character arc, I love the visuals, I love the entire second half, I love Rey and Kylo Ren's connection, I love seeing Kylo Ren's anger unleash towards the end, and I love that scene with Yoda. When Yoda showed up I couldn't stop smiling because it truly made me happy.
Overall it's a 9/10 for me. I think it's almost perfect if viewed as it's own film. If I were to rank the series this lands as 3rd place. It has room for improvement but it has a strong message, good characters, amazing visuals, amazing acting, and it's extremely satisfying when you get to the ending.
