Youngsters on a distant bleak world desperately try to leave their current habitat by a sinister company who's determined to keep all occupants there indefinitely. They hatch a daring plan to escape and seek refuge on a nearby space station and of course bad things happen. I made the biggest mistake by watching as many trailers that I could and enivitably spoiled my viewing experience of one of the best additions in this franchise ever made. I think a lot of people would agree with me and would say watch a few trailers only. Nevertheless it's back to true form with a similar but yet different level of suspense that cleverly hides the alien threat in a shroud of darkness with great editing, music score and performances alike. The practical effects are spot on with some good CGI in the right places. We were all told about a few scenes with some poor CGI, that many people also thought it was a bit insensitive considering the actor involved had passed away a few years ago, and in a way they are probably quite right, as recasting a similar actor would have been just as good. Just watch it yourself and be the judge. I'm writing this review after few hours of watching it and I can safely say it is my second favourite in the saga with a 9 out of 10. The original being the best. One last thing the final lifeform is pretty freaky and terrifying but different from the usual endings, just don't be put off with this as a lot of people feel they were let down by this, but not me, it approaches the would be victims in a slow menacing way and it did scare me silly.!!

Ripley is rescued and taken back to earth only to find that her story is met with mixed reactions. The same planet has now been colonized and of course contact is lost and she agrees to accompany a squad of marines to investigate. This first sequel is a lot more action oriented this time around, with a fair decent amount of tense scary scenes, but it is a tad overlong and it takes the lead character and makes her practically invincible and has the same ending as the original only a bit more ott and unbelievable. It's still good fun, but if you like less action and more edge of the seat suspense with more talk, then like me you will probably still prefer the original. One final point I need to make is that this is only my opinion as I've reviewed this sequel too many times and have watched it a lot and my experiences upon viewing it differs each time I see it. So I will probably settle for a 6 out of 10 and keep this rating. Too many additions to any franchise will enivitable ruin it and end up exhausting any series. Many fans and critics alike absolutely loved this movie and they thought it was the best or at least equal to the original, and in many respects they are probably right. I'm writing this final review a couple of months before the release of 'Alien Romulus', so hears hoping!

At first I thought the demo looks promising so I bought the game and after about 20 to 30 minutes of playing I decided it was well below average actually quite poor. Just give it a chance and it will capture your interest. It's great too look at with stunning graphics, but as you progress on there's something missing. It's scary fun but not quite as good as the previous resi 4. I can't recall if you get the option of selecting difficulty level as the bosses are a lot easier to defeat making it less of a challenge. I would give this remake a 4 out of 10. It's got quite a good twist to the story at the end with one of the characters refusing to do something that did put a smile on my face. So no spoilers just play the game. Unlike the original resi 4 this is semi decent but it won't have me playing it too many times. I may play it again some point in the future. One last thing I would point out is that I think the control system has been vastly improved from the original.

Scientists and explorers investigate cave paintings throughout earth, and come to the conclusion that they are an invitation for all humanity. Little do they realise that they are all deceived, and upon landing on this distant world they face a life threatening scenario that could potentially wipe out all life on earth. This is the first movie in a proposed series of films that although stunning to look at, it fails to convey the same feel that the original films had. There is not much in the way of scares and no tension whatsoever. The majority of characters are so dumb and boring and there's very little to hold your attention. Ridley Scott is a master when it comes to visuals, but unfortunately this is basically a pointless prequel that actually dissapoined a lot of fans of the series when we find out that the creatures that we all love to fear are in fact genetically engineered by a superior alien race known as engineers, and they do not have a native home world. Sorry but a less than average rating of 4 out of 10.

A small rural town in America falls victim to an alien organism that starts off essentially fist-sized to a continuously expanding mass of gel that consumes everything in its path. This is 50s sci-fi at its best with a young 'Steve McQueen as the reluctant hero who helps save the day. Acting, direction and suspense are a few things that go into this classic!!

The crew of the interplanetary starship Covenant land on a world which they believe to be a more hospitable environment rather than their original planned destination. This second installment of the alien prequel saga falls flat on its face bringing nothing new to the now cliche filled alien universe. Ridley Scott is a well renowned director whom we all admire very much with his awe inspiring visual splendor style of film making, but compare this to his original Alien movie, we have a pretty lame with no tension whatsoever, two hours of pointless visually brilliant yarn. Chances of a third prequel probably won't see the light of day. Both this film and the previous entry concentrate on the origins of mankind with an alien species capable of genetically engineering dangerous lifeforms that could potentially wipe out a civilisation. The derelict spaceship that was discovered in the original film should have remained a mystery, and the whole saga should have concentrated on the alien lifeforms whom we all know and fear. Sorry but a pointless film that is practically unratable. 1 out of 10 for it's visuals!

Ripley crashes on a lice infected prison planet and brings a rather unwelcome intruder with her. This is essentially a highly underrated film sequel that doesn't deserve the shallow criticism it received from both critics and the audience when it was released. More like the first movie with a more dark, less action and a relatively decent level of suspense. Maybe an earth or alien home world scenario would have been a more spectacular conclusion to the then trilogy, but due to budget constraints and the many script rewrites in it's troubled production the end result is still a satisfying finish to the then saga.

Based on the hugely successful console game franchise this first film takes on a similar approach to the survival horror genre but doesn't make a replica of the first game, instead it takes all the elements which all fans love and puts us all in a claustrophobic underground facility which is called the hive. Fans were disappointed with this concept and were expecting a mansion scenario with the same sets and characters. It was probably best at the time to make a completely different taking to please both fans and non fanatics of the saga. It is however a very atmospheric and at times tense movie. The stylish music by Marilyn Manson had a very similar style to the first game, apart from a few scenes when the eerieness seems to replaced by what sounds like an electric guitar in a heavy rock style. That doesn't happen to often but it is noticeable as it does kind of spoil the mood. It is well directed and acted and I will give it an 8 out of 10.

This remake on the PS4 and other platforms is a worthy reboot and sequel to the original. If you are relatively new to this franchise then this game introduces us to 'leon s kennedy and Claire redfield as well as ada wong'. The action takes place mainly in a zombie infected raccoon police station and other locations as your characters ponder through the many puzzles that block your way. Now everything goes very smoothly until you play the part of 'ada' and you must play this part to commence with the game. The trouble is this is a very difficult part of the game, and at times very frustrating. You may sail through this with not much trouble at all. But I found it very tough, but with perseverance and determination it is possible. I'm sure other people experienced this as well. Putting all those problems aside Capcom have delivered a very stylish game and it is very entertaining.
