What a bloody waste of time that was. The book, as always, was a good read and it did make some references to The Shining, but not to the extent that Flanagan has here. He's totally rewritten the ending of Dr Sleep by taking us all back to The Shining with an absolute pallid imitation of the original film with dubious lookalikes. What was the point of this rewritten Dr Sleep? Avoid this as you would the plague.
