I see other reviews and I have a hard time understanding how many other people completely didn’t pay attention to the movie. Don’t let pretentious, dramatic people who post stuff like “I CanT BeLieVe I WaStEd mY TiMe oN ThIs” ruin it for you. This was a very smart movie, twists are very hard to see coming, very well thought out, and if you pay attention you’ll understand how everything pieces together in the end. This movie heavily practices the Show don’t Tell technique, and I was thoroughly impressed. The cast is good, dialogue could be a little better but it doesn’t lessen the viewing experience at all. Gorgeous shots, clever cinematography and camera work, and it kept me on edge throughout the whole run time. It’s definitely worth seeing!

The plot serves second to the political agenda that the movie pushes. I could have watched OG Scooby-Doo instead and felt more scared than I did during CandyMan. Characters and cast were excellent though. The political message could have been portrayed with much more tact. I agree progress needs to be made with racial injustice, but this movie definitely goes about it the wrong way.
