My background comes from the grassroots to top level professional racing world from decades in Motorsports. Pretty much everything on 4 wheels except drag racing. In saying that I’ve known many race drivers over the decades and seen what their bodies go through from the G forces to wrecks however they’re monitored in recent decades for drugs, etc.
Thought The Iron Fist was a very well done film. I’ve never followed professional wrestling however this film provides quite an introspective view as far as movies are typically limited to a couple hours. It does alude to being on “the juice” a couple of times or straight out before the motorcycle accident when it says it takes awhile to come down which also could include cocaine.
Watching the film and seeing these guys getting slammed down is incredibly hard on a human body. Everything from multiple concussions, pulled or sprained-torn muscles to broken bones. Possibly similar to professional boxing in regards to concussions and other injuries temporary or permanent to a human body.
A couple other things that stood out in this film were the family-brotherly love along with the mothers and wives. Family support which I can fully appreciate coming from the racing industry. Surprised this film did not gross more at the box office upon release as well as Ford vs Ferrari and Enzo Ferrari.
Met Steve McQueen and Bullit did well but his LeMans film didn’t while Grand Prix did well. Also met and knew James “Jim” Garner. The Iron Claw is a great film that appeals to both women, men and their kids that are into sports.
