I have been a fan of Sara Evans ever since Real Fine Place came out in 2005. Apart from her Greatest Hits (which of course has Born To Fly on it), her next 2 albums didn't really strike a chord with me, till the release of her 2017 Words album. Long Way Down and Marquee Sign are my 2 favourite songs from that album, which I still listen to regularly (especially the Marquee Sign Yellow Remix on Spotify).
So, when she announced the release of Copy That, I was immediately thinking of how she would make this one any better than the last one, which was already superb. Turns out, she did. I listened to all pre-release singles on Spotify, and they immediately grew on me. Needless to say, when Copy That has become available this morning on Spotify, I hit the play button right away.
Excellent album. Just listened to it from start to finish in its entirety. All songs are solid, none has been skipped. Never heard any of these songs before, so to me, they are all brand new and Sara's voice makes them unique.
Thank you, Sara, for releasing consistently solid and enjoyable music during these trying times, rather than postponing the release, till things will possibly get better, as many others did.
We need good music, good books, good movies right now to get through. Yours is definitely one of those. Thank you
