This was brave of Villeneuve to tackle being a bit of a poisoned chalice after the almost comical David Lynch version. He pulls off the grand sweep of the story and stunning visuals - but the story is not sacrificed at all. The performances give it a heart that the previous attempts failed to convey. As usual the director gives us a truly believable world, right down to the look and sound of the ornithopters. A stunning achievement. Can’t wait for part 2!
