I've gotten used to watching shows like "Dangerous Catch" over the years, but this show felt much more like you were one of the crew, experiencing their excitement and woes as they go through the season.
Watching the performance of some of these individuals was actually inspiring.
Plus, it's good to see a fishery that is so well regulated and takes so little out of the overall fishery to help keep it sustainable.
In some cases, you get to see actual throwback methods to decades ago when Japanese bamboo polers would use those huge poles with just a feather on them to snag tuna and haul them into the boats. Was a lot of fun to watch.
You even get to see entirely different methods to approaching the fishery, from a traditional slow boat that stays out for weeks at a time, to a powerful speedboat style that operates on a 24 hour cycle to get fish back to port on a daily basis.
highly recommended.
