Just watched Season 4, Episode 9. Sadly, it will be the last time we watch a show we've treasured for years - since the beginning. The introduction of Veronica Fuentes' (Michelle Forbes) character coupled with the OVER EXTENDED exits of Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) and Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) has finally beaten us down. The doctors supposedly moving to England in TWO WEEKS has turned into an interminable dragging down of every storyline with no end in sight! The story has gone from a gripping drama with a healthy dose of suspense and edge of your seat intrigue to a steaming, heaping pile of frustration, angst and exasperation. It leaves us feeling morally and spiritually depleted and beaten down with a deep sense of emptyness and regret. Sadly, we can never get those 9 hours of our lives from season 4 this year back. We can however keep from being robbed of any more. We've come to the conclusion that the writers have no clear understanding of where they want the story to go, as well as the depressing understanding that we were correct in assuming that the day Michelle Forbes was added to the cast, the show would see a considerable downturn. We didn't consider, however, that for us she and her character would be the final blow that killed "New Amsterdam" for good. After what she and her character have done to the show, we find New Amsterdam to be unredeemable. We won't trust these writers or casting directors with any more hours of our lives. So sad to have to say goodbye.
