The Lumons

John and I went to go see this film today! I was interested in seeing this one because it’s supposedly done in one continuous shot. I never seen a movie like that before so I thought to check it out. John thought he was gonna get bored but throughout the movie we were at the edge of our seats! I could imagine how difficult it was to create this movie but it was done amazingly! The story line fit this type of cinematography very well and I was just amazed by the timeline. Great story. Great characters...great acting and the cinematography added to the suspense - it was like you were following the characters in real time. This was worth making mention of and it’s the best movie to me, in two decades! No joke! If this doesn’t win an academy award, then the oscars are a fluke because this is such a great movie. I don’t usually like war movies because theyre dramatic and make me sad most of the time. This movie was good though, and this type of one shot continuous cinema gives a different perspective that adds depth and impact to the story. I think it’s the future of cinematography. Great job to Director Sam Mendes.

SPOILER: It was OK, but the story wasn't strong enough to be a finale. Point blank. There were so many loose ends, we DON'T know what Finn wanted to tell Rey when they thought they were going to die, we know Rey is a Palpatine but it would've been good to get a background of her actual parents. Kylo Ren should've survived...him and Rey joining forces would've lend for a stronger conclusion. And, since now Kylo is passed on...it would've been MORE POWERFUL that Solo and Ren join Luke and Leia in that last scene force ghost reunion, that would've spoken more of "family". This movie gets me to doubt that the producer was solid on her objective to portray not only the issue of finding yourself, but also of the issue of honoring the past movies before. It wasn't completely terrible, but not the story line or ending that would hold weight for me. I still think the original trillogy was way better.
