When I ask you,"can you fly from the place where you are sitting?" you will say"no". you will say no because you had never flew in your past.It depends on your past. But if you say yes,you are called as believer.Because your answer is not depending on your past,you are only seeing the present and the future. Do you need a replica for a believer? I have experienced, how the world ends by watching movie "2012" but when i watched "MOTHER!" i felt it from my heart.If the mother earth had a chance of expressing her emotions to us,then it will be in the form of emotions that is expressed by the charcter "MOTHER" in this movie.Darren arronofsky symbolically represented how we are ruining our mother earth and how she answers us in return. spoiler alert If you watch the poster of the movie you will notice that Jennifer Lawrennce skin looks like cement and we cant find this frame in the entire movie.From this we can understand that Darren is symbolically representing what had happened and what is happening to earth since the birth of human life on it, in this film. (1)By comparing the house(in movie) the characters live in as "earth" and "MOTHER" as the soul of the earth. (2)In every Darren movie any one of the character will have a obsession,in this movie father character has an obsession of writing poems.Even we can assume that he represented him as god who say good things to people and he forgives people when they do mistakes. (3)When you compare the scenes at 56 minutes and 1hr 47 minutes.You can understand that how we(human) take good things (good quotes) told by great people in a other way satisfying only meaning of that sentence but not the soul of the sentence. This symbolically represents some thing that is happening in everyone's life. For example, we show our sympathy when we hear about cutting down trees or deforestation (or) we will scold people who cut trees but the thing is we are also indirectly cutting down trees,we are using the products of it in our day to day life.We can also compare it to other things like 1.natural resource 2.social evils (4)Natural disasters : The mother earth cant bear this pain(we ruining earth) for longer time.This is symbolically represented by the MOTHER character killing possibly every one and killing her self and her home. -Entire movie meaning is represented through the single frame that is shown at the start of the film but we realize it when we see the same type of frame shown at the end of the film.It also says that the human life on earth is a loop,it vanishes and again it starts. -This is what i experienced ,not analysis of the screen play
