The only one that should be a different ethnicity than the rest of the village is Rand. It doesn't matter what race they are but this is a small isolated village where have the people are related. 2. Women can't be the Dragon. This absolutely kills the story. The Dragon channels the male half of the one power that was tainted by the dark one. That is a super important point because that means your potential savoir will eventually go mad and be a potential to be as bad as what he saved you from. 3. The idea that to couldn't receive training in the one power, from the white tower, if you had talent is ridiculous. They took everyone they could find because they didn't have enough. They didn't have to ruin a great story for the sake of being woke.
