Horror has followed a predictable formula in recent years, but A24 are changing the game. Hereditary starts by allowing you to believe you're watching a standard horror flick, and then quickly catches you off guard - plunging you into a grief-ridden nightmare with no relief. Fresh and beautifully disturbing.
