This documentary is important for everyone to watch albeit a little aggravating for someone in the generation Z. Throughout public school we are show presentations in class that summarizes the content in this film, our parents constantly remind us that “phone = bad”, and even in the websites we visit we are reminded that social media can be extremely damaging to both our mental health and how society functions. So watching this documentary was kind of like getting a recap to exam we practiced for maybe a hundred times, which feels repetitive. However, for general viewer, this is a necessary documentary for people to watch. It reminds us that social media reinforces the worst of us through algorithms that keep us in dedicated each-chambers causing extreme misinformation and paranoia to the other side. The only issue I find with the film is that it sensationalizes everything. It makes it seem like social media is the absolute root cause for human destructive behavior when in fact all it does is push these behaviors. There is other misinformation (ironically) and there is a lot the documentary either over-simplified or left out, but The Social Dilemma is a decent documentary for anyone to watch.

No spoilers. I read most of the leaks that were unveiled a couple months ago, so I had somewhat of an idea coming in. My expectations were higher than that of The Last Jedi, but still low. I genuinely liked this movie. Sure it was rushed, it had a simple plot, and pulled some moves that weren’t favorable. However, given the huge screw-up that was The Last Jedi and the pressure JJ had to bring the fans back together with this single movie, it was good. I love Stars Wars. This movie has TONS of fan service and call backs to the older films, and it was really enjoyable to see. I really liked how they handled the redemption of some of the characters and brought all of it together by the end. Overall, if you let yourself easy with this film and just enjoy the little things, I think movie can be a lot of fun as it brings the entire saga to an end. If not, we’ll always have The Mandalorian.
