A beautiful book that quietly draws you Into a story about religion forgiveness and redemption. If that sounds boring or pious rest assured this novel is none of those things. But a word of caution if you’re scared of mice take a deep breath

The length of the book felt a little daunting at first but I was immediately drawn into the world of the characters. Their simple hopes and dreams which at times are almost fulfilled. A wonderful novel about momentary happiness and immense sadness, about power and those made defenceless by their poverty. This book broke my heart and has stayed with me long afterwards
