I was a bit hesitant to watch this drama at first... thinking it will just be another typical romantic comedy. I just finished Reply 1988, Encounter, Hello Monster; and those series had me craving for dramas that were not like the usual kdrama storyline and dramas with brilliant acting. Oh boy was I ever wrong with this one. It packs the same vibes as Reply 1988; i was laughing like crazy in one scene, then the next scene had me sobbing like a baby. And the actors.. Brilliant!! This drama is a gem! I cant wait to watch the rest of the episodes.

Ive been a fan of BL series for years. Gameboys has the most relatable characters among the series ive watched. The boys are not dropdead gorgeous, but they have the charm (Elijah's smile and Kokoy's disarming eyes) that will make you fall for them. The boys have a lot of talent. Their acting is on par (if not better) than most of the artists their age. The writing is flawless, the script is superb; the series is not only about the budding romance between 2 young men, but also tackles current issues like the pandemic, acceptance of sexuality, problems with the family and a whole lot more. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the first few minutes of the 1st episode. Once you get past it, the series will pull you in its grasps and will not let you go until the end. 3 more episodes to go, and im really excited about what the creative team has in store for us.
