I’ve been re-watching Band of Brothers which was excellent and then gave this film a look... so different to see things from the enemy view, the only similarity being the love of our spouses, families & country... if I was a German I’d like to believe that I would have found a way to not lose my humanity, probably leave the country or desertion, but it’s never that simple, parents, culture, and so many social trappings that it make it seem impossible... Obviously not all were evil, and I can empathize... remember that if enough good people do nothing then evil will triumph, and if we forget the past then we are condemned to repeat it... this is a good way to discuss mans Inhumanity to man... One World, one people, all children of the Earth... better to learn to understand our place and act with conscience We are all brothers and sisters... we can be Jewish or German, black or white, atheist or religious, we can be anyone... this is the age of reason, the time of science, rational, humanistic thought... we respect the natural world and honor our place in it... we need to all grow conscious together

Full of surprises and a real root for the underdog... interesting cast
