It is a good movie in my view, although less entertaining than good. I recommend you to watch it. The story you are going to watch is probably different depending on who you are.
There is a story plot that flows well, the characters are very ingeniously developed and social/business life is depicted as it can (often) be.
It is pretty obvious the director (and probably the writer) is a woman. However, I am not sure this movie could be viewed as an attempt to empower women. The feminine character is literally a beah and she is that since the beginning of the movie, although by then it was not so evident in her role of manipulative wife-to-be. Later on, with power, she is transformed into a man, and not of the good kind, in contrast, the male adopts a feminine (traditional) role with the loss of that power (imaginary). This relation between bearing power (a given power at the end) and acceptable behavior, regardless of sex, is interesting, although unflattering for women.
