This is a true story. The Navy officer who was in charge of stealing all the Boats of Cherbourg from Cherbourg became a good friend of mine. I am told that he passed away just about one year ago. He gave me a copy of this book but my wife decided she wanted a new home. So she bought a new home for us and we are still trying to sell our old home. We have received several offers and have now settled on a buyer. Oddly enough we will receive just a little under 1.5 million $ for our old home and I am not sure we really should have sold it for the amount we are now on contract for. We were offered much more three years ago and I let that offer slip through my hands.
