I watched The Hill this evening for the first time, and found it very powerful. The type of situation the men are in can bring out the most sadistic tendencies in those who are so inclined. The film evokes a palpable sense of how excruciating it would be to be trapped in a military prison camp. The relentless yelling alone would drive a person nuts, even without the hill.
