This film was one of the most pleasant surprises of all the movies my wife and I saw in the theater back in 2015 (and we see lots of them...). What was so amazing and especially unique for us was the fact that this was a faith-based film, yet as enjoyable an historical action-adventure romance as many other "secular" films that we've seen in the same genre. Great action, great romance, a lot of fun with history in the American Revolutionary period, and also a Christian message that was made more undeniable by how understated it was. We kept waiting for those cringe-worthy lines that fill so many of the sermons-in-disguise that are passed off as real-life drama in so much of faith-based entertainment these days. Thankfully, we heard none, and got to enjoy a great action/adventure as well. Bravo to the Burns Family for daring to make a faith-based film that is exciting, swashbuckling, and romantic, yet also "preaches" to people other than just the ones in the choir.
