I love this movie. I drove an hour and a half to see it in theatre (it was a limited release) and I do not regret it. I have been an office fan forever and I saw this movie was heavily adverised with Only Murders In The Building, so natural I was all for it. At it's surface this seems like an adult dark comedy with a murder/whodunit type twist. And yes, there are crime and mystery elements to it, but there's even more under the surface. It's a very thought provoking movie, it's essentially a culture study and an anthropology movie. The culture of Texas is very fun and fascinating as well as the study of people, how people grieve, our relationship with recording ourselves, and the concept of vengeance. Though this was a thinking type movie I was on the edge of my seat, excited at each turn. So while being thoughtful it's also very exciting and edgy. I really recommend this movie and think it's reviews don't reflect how wonderful it is. BJ Novak is a genius, I love this movie the same why Michael looks at Ryan.
