This is not the rope-throwing, horseback riding Will Rogers. He is a Missouri family man who has lost all his money from the bank collapse who loads up the family and they head to California where "riches await all who come."
The beauty of this movie is the wonderful early -1930s scenes of some of our most beautiful national parks. You see what they looked like in the early '30s when the movie was shot -- almost 100 years ago now. I would watch this movie over and over again just to see those great views.
Zasu is subdued (for her) in this movie; she is a good mother. Definitely a fine movie with a good message, which I'm not going to spill here, and a morale to be learned.
