I had to read this for a class in highschool, and I have to say that I really didn't like it. I'm sure that I wasn't the audience that the author had in mind while writing it, but it was not my style of book. It was dark and left me feeling unsatisfied at the end. I know it's a classic, but I just can't help but dislike it. It is a revolutionary concept, and even more so when you look at when it was written, but it's not for me.

This movie obviously has a large deeper meaning. We all know that this had a larger message of racism and why it is so horrible and wrong. In the beginning we see how differently they are treated for something they have no control over. I think that it is a little bit wrong to have a minority (any minority really, but this is about black lives) portrayed as zombies. Zombies are seen as gross, canablistic, human eating, brain lacking beings that aren't good for anything, and to use them as a comparison to real humans with different colored skin isn't right. Other that this, I think the movie was fairly good. The acting was disney quality, so you know, not great. But hey, I still watched it. This movie made me think of desendents the whole time, and how all of their dance numbers (which are sins in themselves) looked the same. Over all, this movie is okay. Probably better for younger children that aren't going to be able to make real world connections.
