Seasons 1-7 were amazing. They took me on a journey, one where I felt I was part of the show. Things didn't always happen as one would wish but that is what made it all the more realistic and amazing. The characters were memorable and the story-lines were perfect. Game of Thrones was exactly as the name says, strategies and politics played by the different houses all for power. The perfect balance between the character's personal lives and business (that is politics for the Iron Throne). However, season 8 was a complete and utter disappointment. Apparently, a lot had to be squeezed in and there were constraints for which reasons the episodes were cut down to 6 but their running time went up to an hour and twenty minutes but over 3/4 of that time was spent with unnecessary fillers and dragging on of shots. That time could have been spent explaining the main events better. The characters became less memorable. The show that would reduce one to tears with a single scene wasn't able to do that for major events in Season 8. It felt like a Bollywood movie and that style did not suit the show at all. Overall, the last season, perhaps in an attempt to live to the hype, was actually a major disappointment and ruined everything the past seasons had build up to.
